Bouw Botje is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration between Exact Online Construction (Exact Online Bouw, formerly Bouw7) and AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot. You ask a question in plain language about your projects, hours, instalments or purchasing, and the AI assistant takes the answer from your own Exact Online Construction administration or, if you allow it, carries out the action.

How it works
How does Bouw Botje work?
- Create an account at bouwbotje.nl/app.
- Connect Exact Online Construction with an API key from start.bouw7.nl/my-account/api-access. Bouw Botje then loads your data into a separate, isolated database per administration.
- Add the MCP server to your AI assistant and sign in via OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. The guide per assistant is on connect via MCP.
- Ask questions in plain language. Search and read questions are answered from the synchronised copy; create, update and delete actions go directly to Exact Online Construction.

Scope
What is Bouw Botje not?
- Not a product of Exact. Bouw Botje is made by Industrial IT and connects through the Exact Online Construction API.
- Not a replacement for Exact Online Construction. You need an Exact Online Construction account with an API key; changes are made in Exact Online Construction itself.
- Not an AI model or chatbot of its own. You use the AI assistant you already have; Bouw Botje provides the connection to your administration.
- Not an integration for general Exact Online. For that there is sister product Ledger Botje.
- Not full coverage. There are no tools for work orders, stock management, service subscriptions, payment batches, general ledger and bank entries, payment reminders or e-mailing invoices and quotes.
- Not a financial advisor. Always check your AI assistant's answers; business decisions remain your responsibility.
